Civilian casualties and damage inflicted upon civilian infrastructure as a result of Armenia’s act of aggression against Azerbaijan
Since September 27, 2020 the armed forces of Armenia have been indiscriminately targeting the civilian population, private houses and civilian infrastructure in Azerbaijan. By doing so, Armenia grossly violates its obligations under international humanitarian law, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions and its Additional Protocols as well as disregards the humanitarian ceasefire declared on October 10 and 18.
On October 19th, as a result of shelling in Banovshalar settlement of the Aghdam region Anar Hasanov (1982), a reporter of the Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting CJSC (Aztv) seconded to the frontline zone was hospitalized.
Starting from the morning of October 20, Armenia shelled the Tartar region from various directions with rockets and heavy artillery. Anar Isagly (1994), and Anar Guliyev (1984), were killed as a result of a shell falling on a private house in Jamilli village of the Tartar region at about 15:00 today. Murov Shabanov (1972) was hospitalized with serious injuries, and his house was severely damaged.
As of 20th of October, totally 63 civilians, including children and elderly were killed, 292 civilians have been hospitalized with serious injuries. 1943 private houses, 90 apartment buildings and 382 civilian infrastructures were damaged and became unserviceable as a result of Armenia’s indiscriminate armed attacks.
